Here at Ozark Mountain Paws, our goal is to provide you with the healthiest, best-tempered new family member possible.

In our kennel, all of our puppies have been purposefully bred to be ideal family companions.

Our Beginning

After a lifetime of longing for one of our own, our family was finally able to embark on our “Berner” journey in early 2018 with our two precious pups, Huxley and Harlow. After falling in love with the breed, and realizing how well both of our dogs adhere to the breed standard, we began to research become breeders in order to provide other families with the same joy that we’ve experienced, while also health testing to improve life expectancy, health, and temperament to the breed, as a whole. In 2019, we were able to partner with a valued friend and colleague to offer Bernedoodle puppies, as well. We believe in our lines, and we are committed to standing behind each of our puppies. We believe that dog ownership is a lifelong journey, and we here at Ozark Mountain Paws are here to walk that path beside you!

“Happiness is a warm puppy.”

About Bernese Mountain Dogs

Brought to Switzerland by the Romans over 2,000 years ago, Bernese Mountain Dogs were originally bred as working dogs for farm use. They were often used to pull carts, as well as guard and drive cattle. They made their way across the pond to the United States in 1926 and have since become a beloved family pet. They are known for being especially gentle with children, friendly with their family and strangers alike, and being equally happy to go on long walks or lay on the couch at your side. Berners love being near their people, and they also live for the winter months, when they can frolic in the snow and use their thick, luscious coats to stay warm.

About Bernedoodles

Bernedoodles are a cross breed of Bernese Mountain Dogs and Poodles. The goal of this breeding pair is to offer the easy-going, affectionate temperament of the Bernese Mountain Dog with the intelligence and low-shedding nature of the Poodle. The result is an adorably fluffy, playful, and friendly pup. At Ozark Mountain Paws, we have chosen to only breed Standard sized Bernedoodles, as we believe that this results in the best health and temperament. We have also bred our F1 Bernedoodle back to a full blooded Bernese Mountain Dog to improve bid-ability, decrease energy levels, and to produce puppies with the iconic tri-colored coloring of the Bernese Mountain Dog.
